Can anyone tell it's the Monday in between the weekend and Canada Day? hahahaha.
Here Muricans, learn something about our big ass country!
Also just so you know, that person isn't the Governor General anymore, constitutional expert David Johnston is.
Edit: This video is probably about 5 years old.

No 4 day weekend for us. While every day is 'Merica day we only get to take the day off once a year. That's friday this week for us this year.

Yup, the streets were pretty quiet this morning. Tomorrow is not only Canada Day, but Moving Day as well here in Quebec.

This is true. However having a designated moving day is ridiculous.

It's not mandatory, but it's still pretty much the standard procedure around here. I've never actually done it myself, having been lucky enough to find apartments or moving dates that fit outside of the big day.
If you've got the time, it's fun to drive through the fancy neighbourhoods in Montreal looking for furniture and appliances. It's amazing to see the quality stuff that wealthier people will just throw/give away.

I moved a former roommate to Montreal (from Ottawa). I drove her moving truck for her because she didn't drive very much.
Driving a moving truck in the side streets of La Plateau was a challenge. I got down a street like this and was stopped by a double parked BMW. I then had to reverse the damn thing like 300 ft.

Double parking - Montreal's number 1 sport!
